Today is a historic day as Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. I like many others cannot afford to be there for this historic moment, so I'd like to take this little space to welcome the new President and a share a new era of hope and opportunity for this country.
Much has changed in the past 8 years, somewhere in between, we saw our economy tumbled, our country in disarray, millions without a job and many have lost their homes and the hope of living the American dream. A general distrust in our system and a lost of faith in our leaders. I hope that you all keep that dream in burning inside you. Nothing is worse than fear and you have seen what fear has done to this country in the past 8 years. We are now living in a very challenging period, job loses, the greatest deficit in this country history, two wars, collapses of the banking and auto industry. It is also an opportunity to restart our dreams, hoping for a better time to come and I sincerely wishes good luck to the new President, there is a lot of work to be done to repair our economy, our sagging image and our leadership. I'm happy to have a competent President in the White House and hope for the best to come.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to wish a Happy New Year to all Asians who celebrates the new Chinese lunar year like me. A new prosperous year to you all.
