The Hole Book, first published by Harper in 1908, has an unique design that Peter Newell actually patented. The story is litterally based on the title, there is a hole thoughout the book and the illustrations followed. It is something quite unique at that time and remains so today. Enjoy ! |

I'm happy to introduce a very creative American Book Illustrator of the early 1900s, Peter Newell. He designed and illustrated many children's book. But three very unique book stand out: The Slant Book, The Hole Book and the Rocket Book.
