I'm happy to introduce a very creative American Book Illustrator of the early 1900s, Peter Newell. He designed and illustrated many children's book. But three very unique book stand out: The Slant Book, The Hole Book and the Rocket Book.

The Hole Book, first published by Harper in 1908, has an unique design that Peter Newell actually patented. The story is litterally based on the title, there is a hole thoughout the book and the illustrations followed. It is something quite unique at that time and remains so today. Enjoy !
