Everyone knows something about Reincarnation and about everyone would be interested in reading a book about it. Yet, strangely enough, there are not many books to be found in English on Reincarnation and almost none of them are likely to be , as Eva Martin’s book is, an anthology of great writings on Reincarnation.

Eva Martin was herself a theosophist. Her principal interest in this anthology lay not only in providing us with the key passages from the writings of the East, but also in providing all the important statements that were made about Reincarnation in the western world in earlier centuries.

A book which includes between its covers Empedocles, Plato and Virfil; Shelley, Isben and Victor HUgo; Browning, Nietzsche, Tennyson, Walt Whitman; Bernard Shaw, H.G. Wells, Kipling, Edward Carpenter – such a book is not likely, whatever its shortcomings, to be found full reading!
